Clouds of dirt

Well, yes, it has been a long time since I blogged. This delay was partially due to needing to inform people of our great news before I let it slip in my blog. Those who read often will now find hints in different posts. Hmmm...why was I sleeping so much? It's amazing that we kept our pregnancy quiet for as long as we did. My husband and I both talked about almost slipping so many times. As most of you know, we are so very excited....and then there are a whole other slew of emotions. Who knew hormones could make you cry at Disney's Magic Kingdom? HA!

Early April brought my birthday without much pizzazz and for the first time, this didn't bother me. I guess I had bigger things to be excited about and perhaps it is my age catching up with me. Birthdays don't seem to bring the same thrill anymore and I'm OK with that. However, my husband got me a great foot bath that I'm sure will come in handy when my feet swell up!

April has also brought planting season. Driving home yesterday, I saw clouds of dirt, led by large green and red tractors, dotting the landscape. I suppose for most people this is just watching spring farming happen but for me it evokes so much inside. The smell of freshly turned dirt yanks on the agricultural ties within my heart. It reminds me of our goals and why we are making decisions and sacrifices now to make our dreams happen. In the mean time, we are about to plant our first little garden patch, I'm picking asparagus in our back yard, and enjoying the bulbs we put in our new flower beds last fall.
