...but you can't take the country out of the girl

"You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl." For the past three days, I've been in my element. Although I didn't appreciate 99 degree temperatures, three days at the Farm Progress Show was soul food for me. I would have appreciated more time to wander throughout the show but I just enjoyed being able to attend this gigantic farm show right here in central Illinois. We did a fresh and local cooking demo for three days. Today was a bit cooler making it even more enjoyable. Yesterday, more than 50 people were treated for heat exhaustion.

My evening was wonderful too. After I picked up Jeremiah, we did a few house chores and then headed outside to work in the very dry yard. We took a walk, enjoying the absolutely wonderful temperatures. He had dinner. We read some books and he went to bed about 8:30. I decided I better bear down to get a few work tasks done. By being at Farm Progress Show, I'm feeling a bit behind. It's now nearly 10 and I'll be ready to curl up with my hubby who just came home from class.

Speaking of my hubby - I need to say how wonderful he has been at helping me with housework and other tasks lately. He's been doing dishes, folding laundry and doing a bit more in the mornings to get Jeremiah to daycare. Each and every day I'm thankful to have such an amazing man in my life.

Day after day, I think of things that I should blog about but at 10 p.m. my brain is going blank so I'm going to end this rambling post and maybe tomorrow I'll remember what my potential posts were.
