The way the weekend looked

We had a great weekend! Because Thursday night was a late night for us, I opted to give Jeremiah the Friday night treat of a movie. We've never really done this and I thought he would probably be old enough to start making it a fun thing to do. JT arrived home a little after 8.

With no obligations for the weekend, we had decided to do something fun as a family on Saturday. Our original plan with 80 degrees forecasted was to go to the local forest preserve park for a picnic and playing. A morning thunderstorm sidelined that plan but I had a great time with my boys at a Children's Discovery Museum about 45 minutes from us. It was so nice to spend family time and feel like we were in a somewhat normal situation for just a few hours. We also enjoyed a walk, dinner together at home (that hasn't happened in a while), and to cap off our level of spontaneity, JT and I gave the cat a bath at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. It was a spur of the moment decision, but again I have to say that I even enjoyed that because it seemed like something we would have done on any old Saturday night.

Sunday brought me some time for scrapbooking. It's been so long. In fact, I had not even printed pictures in a year. So, I ordered pics and also organized some in hopes of getting some pages put together soon. This was one of those many projects that was on the "When I'm Done with Class" list that was quickly replaced with the "When the house is ready for sale" list. We also played outside and took a few minutes to sit at our picnic table and all have ice cream together. Ahh spring!

It was wonderful......and then it came to a screeching halt at about 5:30 when John needed to prepare to leave. I think the Sunday night departure was worse having had such a great weekend. I tried to be happy to have had the time we did but I wanted just a little more. I wanted to curl up and watch a few Sunday night shows with my husband. I wanted normal. More on this later!
