Rough day

I'm having a rough day. I'm just ready for the weekend to be with my husband and my family.

I think I'm even looking forward to packing, knowing that it is part of the process for going home. Then, it's just a half day of work, tidying of the house and a drive north.

Are you cracked?

On this Mother's Day, I want to share a little piece of wisdom recently passed on to me from one of the special women in my life that was passed on to her from one of the most amazing mothers and matriarchs I will ever know.

We are like rocks. God made some of us with cracks and others without cracks. When life's rain falls on us some of us have cracks that let our emotions and coping skills flow through all the time. (As a person who often resorts to tears, talking through things, etc., I am definitely cracked). Then, there are others who don't have the cracks. They persevere through situations and are held together completely. However, the rain can sometimes build up, and over time wear down even those without cracks. This is when these types of people have to find a way to deal with so much that they have previously persevered through. The world needs both types of people because they do handle situations so differently and it's OK to be either type of person.

I've been thinking about this so much since it was shared with me and thinking about the people in my life.

So, are you cracked?
