Randomness
Random thoughts that have been in/through my head in the last 24 hours.
- It was an ABSOLUTE blessing to work from home yesterday. I accomplished a great deal in regards to work AND I was able to do a few house tasks on my lunch hour that made the evening more enjoyable. I found myself in a more pleasant emotional/mental state in regards to my patience with Jeremiah and my feel for the whole evening. To top it off I wrote my boss a thank you note this morning telling her what a difference it made in my week to have the flexibility.
- Speaking of flexibility, I'm really excited that John will now have a little more flexibility in his work schedule, possibly allowing him to stay with us until Monday morning. I'm also really proud of him for even being willing to ask about it! I'm not sure I would have predicted his willingness to do this in the past.
- I had an interesting epiphany while I was scrubbing my kitchen floor on Monday night. I look in the dirty bowl of water when I was done and felt a great sense of accomplishment because I had cleaned so much gunk up, but at the same time I was disappointed at the fact that I had allowed it to get that dirty to begin with. Then, I had an interesting thought wondering if this is what God feels like with each of us. He is disappointed that we get so dirty with sin but yet his love can wash it all away! I guess I've been doing some deep thinking this week.
- On the theme of deep thinking, I've been trying to think about my life as a journey. This has led to a variety of other thoughts, like how I know I get annoyed if we are traveling and don't have a plan or something goes wrong. There is certain to be more to come in relation to all of this but for now "Journey" if my new mindset.
- Now comes my dillema for the week. I'm getting tired of eating the same things over and over! Does anyone have any great tricks for cooking for 1.5 people and keeping it easy? For example, hamburger comes as 1 lb. and many of the seasonings that go in it are for 1 lb. That's hard to downsize. Any great ideas out there?

Hi! I love your post...and your dirty water analogy. Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about my ex-boss/ "friend" who hurt me SO badly. I couldn't help but think about God, and how much it must hurt Him when so people refuse His LOVE! Wow.
I'm glad your boss gives you extra flexibility, too. I think you will really enjoy working from home full time. It offers a different set of challenges, but the perks are nice!
Yeah!!! for John's long weekends. That will be so nice!
As for meals...good luck is all I can say. We eat a lot of leftovers when J is gone, we also freeze a lot of things. For instance, I'll make pasta sauce and freeze half, or freeze half a batch of chili, chicken taco meat, etc. That way it's just enough for two meals...and an easy two meals a few weeks later. Altho, I'm sure you don't want a full freezer as you prep to move!
Hugs!

So the dirty water/God analogy is awesome. So true and makes cleaning the floor more meaningful for me now.
Working from home does have its own set of challenges that is for sure, but I take my 15-minute break that I would have in the office and use it to get three different 5-minute household things done throughtout the day and it is amazing how that frees up your evening... plus if you forget to lay something out of the freezer for dinner all you do is just go to freezer and pull something out.

Hey! Even though there are only 2 of us we have no problem eating as much as a large family most nights. This is a recipe for 1 but I make a whole pan of it. T loves it! I've even altered the recipe a little (basically I made lasagna with pepperoni instead of hamburger) and have a couple in the freezer for after Bubba arrives!
