Garage Sale Prep
Since we moved to Iowa (let alone BACK from Iowa), I've had plans of holding a garage sale. I've been building boxes of items to sell. Additionally, I'm planning on sorting back through some closets and cupboards this weekend.
However, I still have fear of my sale looking puny. However, I am, at least, holding it on city-wide garage sale day so people will be drawn to town. With this in mind, I went searching for a few tips on line. I found a few lists, but I'm soliciting here (for anyone who might actually still read, although I update rarely).
What tips do you have for a good garage sale?

I don't know if I have anything helpful. We had a few in IL and I helped with a few others. At ALL of them, the same woman showed up the night before claiming she couldn't come in the morning, and asking if she could look through everything. Also, this one family came to EVERY SINGLE ONE of the sales and aggressively suggested a price that was always 1/3 the sticker price. These people=not worth dealing with.

I have limited experience, but this is what I have learned. What is your primary goal? Make money or get rid of stuff in your house? If it is get rid of stuff, be flexible on price especially as time marches on, and nothing went back into the house... if it doesn't sell, well then pack up the car for a trip to Goodwill. Have a box marked 25 cents to catch all of your "seriously, you want to buy this?" stuff. If your goal is to make big $$ I can't really help. If you think your sale will be small, ask a few friends if they want to toss anything in. Good luck!!

CHEAP, mark stuff cheap if you really don't ever want to see it again! Books always sell and organize your clothes by sizes, and try to keep the piles marked (18 month, 2T etc) Don't open your garage door until you are REALLY ready for business and post a sign "WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS" and No Bathroom available. Baked goods are also good sellers, like 3 cookies on a plate, people get hungry. That might be something Jeremiah could be "in-charge" of selling! Good luck!!!
